Music videos are the creative visualizations of an artist's song. It's a craft that combines the fields of film and music, providing filmmakers and artists another avenue in storytelling. With music videos, viewers are able to grasp the artistic direction of the creators, allowing them to further connect with the song.
This week, we will be taking a dive into the processes of all things music video related. We will be discussing with our panelists, Bianca Nicdao and Carolyn Knapp about their personal experiences and their insight on the industry. Our speakers are part of Capitol Records, Universal Music Group, and Vevo and have worked with artists such as Katy Perry, Niall Horan, Olivia Rodrigo, Madison Beer. Bianca Nicdao (BIZZY) is a visual artist, specializing in creative, artistic, and imaging direction. Bianca is a Filipino-American creative director, filmmaker, photographer, and DJ. She received her BFA in Visual Media Arts - Film Production at Emerson College in Boston, MA and studied music business with Berklee College of Music in Valencia, Spain. Currently, she lives in Los Angeles.
Bianca has worked with artists such as Katy Perry, Niall Horan, Halsey, Tori Kelly, BJ The Chicago Kid, Loren Gray, KITO, Vince Staples, BANKS, Maggie Rogers, FLETCHER, Queen Naija, SuperM, Boys World, Saint Bodhi, Matt Ox, Calum Scott, Asiahn, Tai Verdes and more.

Carolyn Knapp is a young, queer, freelance director, animator, production designer, and multimedia artist based in Los Angeles, CA. She has always been obsessed with characters, art, and music, and tries to harness the power of all three to tell bold stories of love, empathy, and liberation. Caro has been a employed by °1824 at Universal Music Group’s internal content team since 2019, where she has directed and animated videos for artists including Olivia Rodrigo, Fergie, and the Jonas Brothers. You might also know Caro from the queer short film she wrote and directed, Cherry Bomb, which has screened at a variety of international film festivals.
