The Warning: Hard rock sister trio that shook the Internet

The unbreakable sibling bond between Daniela, Paulina, and Alejandra Villarreal elevates their determination to break down barriers within the music industry for women. I had the opportunity to get to know these Mexico-based sisters radiating of talent thanks to their 1824 conference!

Origin stories of artists we know and love today can range from picking up the guitar as little as 3 years old to unexpectedly being scouted for a tik tok they posted months ago. For the Villarreal sisters, it was Rock Band the video game that inspired them to try their hand at playing instruments when they were kids, and the music their parents played. It wasn’t until Alejandra, the youngest of the sister trio, started playing instruments did they realize each of the different instruments they individually played could form a band. They did just that and went viral covering Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” 7 years ago on youtube.

Fast forward to present day, The Warning joined alliances with Alessia Cara to cover the very same song and GET THIS…it is now featured on the latest Metallica Blacklist album. If that isn’t a sign that they are exactly where they are supposed to be, then I don’t know what is! Here is the full circle moment:

Now writing their own music, sometimes their greatest ideas come at 3am or on an airplane. And while they continue to pave their own paths in the hard rock realm, they still manage to honor their heritage and stay authentic throughout their music career. Though making themselves known within the rock genre hasn’t been the most welcoming experience, their rapidly expanding fanbase proves that women belong in these spaces AND will rock at it (pun intended).
