Today, we spoke to Jennifer Velez on her experience as a music journalist for GRAMMY.com.

Jennifer Velez is a Los Angeles based writer, journalist, producer, and panel moderator. She writes about music and culture of the U.S., Latin America and beyond. Her work has appeared on GRAMMY.com, NPR, Remezcla, NPR's Latino USA, Bustle and more.

Jenn, who has done interviews with high tier X superstars such as Nipsey Hussle and Maluma, speaks on how she navigates the music industry by intertwining her passions for ethnic studies, music, and representing underserved communities as a Latina herself. She provides advice to aspiring journalists to be patient in their careers and to write about what matters to them.
