This weekend, we are joined by a very special guest - SVP of A&R and Management at Hallwood Media, Cristina Chavez.
We will be discussing Cristina's journey in the music industry, including how she got started and how she became the SVP of A&R and Management at Neil Jacobson's Hallwood Media. Additional topics to be discussed are: tips for being a great A&R and manager, how artists can stand out in a saturated market, and what artists should be doing currently in order to advance their careers.

LISTENING SESSION
The event will be concluded with our weekly listening session. 6-8 artists will have a chance to play their music in front of a live audience and will receive constructive criticism from Cristina Chavez and Alexi Rabadam.
To be considered for music play in the listening session, artists must purchase a SUBMISSION REVIEW ticket and submit one song LINK (preferably Spotify) by Friday 7/30 at 5pm ET with subject line "SATURDAY SUBMISSION" to info@finessed.media.
Our team will screen your music for relevancy to audience, quality, and how beneficial the feedback will be. If your submission is not accepted, you will receive a full refund. Submissions that are accepted will have 1:30 to 2 min of their song played in front of the audience.
Must be a Finessed Media VIP Career Development member or purchase a SUBMISSION REVIEW ticket for consideration.

Cristina Chavez is a San Francisco native with over 15 years of experience in the music and entertainment industries. Cristina is a passionate and dedicated manager with an incredible talent for discovering new musical talent and helping build their careers. She’s currently the SVP of A&R and Management at producer/songwriter management powerhouse, Hallwood Media, founded by Former Geffen Records President Neil Jacobson. Cristina’s focus is on expanding the Hip-Hop and R&B space.
Prior to Hallwood Media, Cristina was an executive in ASCAP’s Rhythm & Soul Department. During her time on the executive team at ASCAP, Cristina signed new songwriters, producers and artists to the organization while simultaneously maintaining existing music industry and brand relationships. Chavez curated produced and booked ASCAP’s live events such as the “On the Come Up” showcase (LA & SXSW), writing camps, educational panels, co-branded events, Expo/Experience, and the Urban Awards.
Chavez started her career in 2006 as an intern on the street team for local and renowned San Francisco radio station (106 KMEL). In 2007, Cristina contributed to the Public Relations team at BET. The following summer Cristina worked closely with the SVP of Music, Programming, and Specials, Stephen Hill. Throughout her college career Cristina worked the company’s major tent-poles, such as Spring Bling, Celebration of Gospel, Crank that Vote, BET Awards, BET’s Hip-Hop Awards, 106 & Park and more. After graduating she went on to become the assistant to Stephen Hill for nearly a year. She then went on to coordinate for the Talent Department, and finally landed as a manager to BET’s Music Matter.
Cristina oversaw all aspects of the Music Matters campaign at BET. A few of her experiences include, booking, programming, and curating talent for major events including; the three-day stage at BET Experience, a weekly stage for the Road to BET Experience, festivals such as A3C, SXSW and Megafest. She also worked tirelessly on monthly NYC showcases, internal packages/commercials, and internal TV shows. Cristina was the creator to the Music Matters “Grammy Edition” of BET’s showcases, which still takes place to this day.
