Ginger Rodriguez set to release "La Rosa de Guadalupe"
Ginger Rodriguez is a 21-year-old artist from Austin Texas. Since 2015 she has been writing and self-producing her songs. Inspired by pop icons such as David Bowie, Prince, Madonna, and Selena Gomez.
In 2018 Ginger, released her debut project “I’m Crying in A Cool Way”. Ever since then, Rodriguez has grown her fan base astronomically. Her animated presence has captivated audiences all over the country.
"La Rosa de Guadalupe" is a story of a girl from Texas who moves to Los Angeles and loses herself to fame. The story is told through the lens of a religious icon, a 'Madonna' 'Mother Teresa' 'La Rosa de Guadalupe' figure in popular culture.
"With this next album, I want to explore celebrity and popular culture, and how it mirrors religious and cult-like behaviour, and 'La Rosa de Guadalupe' sets the scene in the story I'm trying to tell." Rodriguez continues, "I know not everyone will understand where I'm coming from with the songs off of 'Pop Cult', including this one, but I hope that I can at least make music for the people who understood the change-makers before me that were deemed controversial for their time, and yet now revered for their impact on popular culture. I know I may never have such influence, but 'La Rosa de Guadalupe,' and the rest of the songs I'm making right now, are everything I ever wanted to create since I first saw Madonna's "Like A Prayer" music video as a child." - Ginger Rodriguez
Her next single titled La Rosa de Guadalupe will officially be released on the 24th of March 2023. Her fans can wait in eager expectation as the song will have Latin and Pop influences. She pays homage to some of the pop icons that she was raised on, like Madonna, Lady Gaga, and Britney Spears, through her production and risky lyrics.
